Legacy is a concept that many of us hold dear to our hearts. As I turned fifty last year, I found myself reflecting even more on how I spend my time and energy. Embracing a legacy mindset truly transforms our perspective, highlighting that investing in people is what matters most. I want to invest in people not only in my business, but also as a parent and grandparent. My hope is to leave not just a financial blessing for my family, but also spiritual seeds of faith.
Being an entrepreneur has required faith to step out into the areas of the unknown while dreaming of what could be. I have never regretted my choice to work for myself and I have been able to put my fingerprint on my talents. I want to pass this faith to my children and grandchildren.
What do you hold as valuable? It might be financial success, or a lifestyle change which will impact your families wellbeing. Whatever your dream is, what matters most is that you step out in faith toward that next step. My sister and her husband have taken a leap of faith and have begun to walk out their dreams with the purchase of their home and some acreage with the ability to grow heirloom vegetables and fruit, and have animals. This has opened up a whole new world for them and their family. I applaud them for their dedication which has allowed them to experience not only the return of their labor in food to eat but has also given them seeds of faith to pass down to their family. This is such a beautiful example of what legacy means.
When you think about legacy, what kinds of words come to mind in what you are leaving the next generation?
We are living in a time where the world around us feels like shifting sand to walk on and the idea that we can dream and hope has become more challenging.
One reason I absolutely love life coaching is because I get the opportunity to encourage the growth of seeds that God has planted deep into the hearts of women. Speaking life and hope over dreams is exhilarating! You just never know when you will be that person offering hope in a conversation to someone who is struggling and needs encouragement and faith for the next step.
In the spirit of planting seeds and entrepreneurship, I’d like to share something very special with you. My granddaughter, Zoey, a talented young artist, has generously allowed me to feature her beautiful sailboat drawings in my blog posts. This isn’t our first collaboration; a few years ago, she illustrated a children’s Christmas poem I wrote, titled Christmas Come Quickly. It has been a joy to watch her artistic journey unfold, and I look forward to creating more together in the future!
I hope if you are reading this that you will be inspired to dream and take steps of faith planted with deep roots toward your vision.
Is it not creativity and passion which makes this world wonderful a place!
Jeremiah 17:7-8 – But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.
